Important Message from Erdoğan to Armenia

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has traveled to Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, to participate in the 26th summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), reports Ermenihaber.am.

As part of the summit, Erdoğan held a meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. The meeting took place in a bilateral format. The Turkish presidential communications office released details of the meeting.

The sides discussed Turkey-Azerbaijan bilateral relations as well as regional and global developments. Erdoğan noted that the importance of the cooperation between Turkey and Azerbaijan in the fields of energy, infrastructure, and transportation is better understood given the current conditions in the region. According to him, deepening and developing relations based on the principle of 'two states, one nation' will serve the interests of both countries in all areas.

Erdoğan also emphasized that Turkey will continue to support the establishment of peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia. He stated that the establishment of peace in the region will bring a 'healing force' to the area.

During the meeting, the Turkish president invited Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to the COP31 summit to be held in Antalya.
