Medvedev: Do Not Trust Telegram with Personal or Official Secret Information
Important official or personal information should not be trusted to messengers, including Telegram. This was stated by Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, in an interview with TASS.
“Why are we going through all these encryption keys and so on? I think that everyone who uses Telegram or other instant messengers understands perfectly well that it is generally prohibited to post sensitive personal information or absolutely closed, secret information there, and so on. As for the rest, if you are willing to take risks, then you do not care that someone might have the keys to that information,” Medvedev said, responding to a question about whether Telegram could be trusted following the arrest of its co-founder Pavel Durov in Paris a few days ago.
According to him, the decryption and processing of the entire mass of information on Telegram would require significant effort and time.
