Police Officers Dismissed from Service

On September 2, a regular meeting of the disciplinary commission of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was held, chaired by the Secretary of the Ministry, Ara Fidanyan. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The meeting was attended by heads of strategic planning, policy development and monitoring, and legal departments, as well as the Deputy Chief of Police and representatives of public organizations included in the disciplinary commission.

During the meeting, the materials and conclusions of the internal investigation regarding 13 police employees were examined and discussed. After analyzing the factual circumstances, the disciplinary commission decided to recommend to the officials who conducted the internal investigation to subject 9 police officers to disciplinary responsibility, suggesting the imposition of the disciplinary sanction of "dismissal from the police." For 2 officers, a disciplinary sanction of "severe reprimand" was suggested, while 2 others would receive a "warning" sanction.
