Photos: 670 Calls Received by Ministry of Emergency Situations After Heavy Rain
After the heavy rain that fell in Yerevan yesterday, the National Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia received 670 calls. This information is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
The calls were received from August 30 at 23:34 until August 31 at 02:46, concerning short circuits of electrical wires, blockages of stormwater drains and observation wells, and flooding.
In Yerevan, 40 cases of flooding were recorded, including in various administrative districts: Ajapnyak - 4, Arabkir - 6, Malatia-Sebastia - 6, Kentron - 15, Erebuni - 3, Shengavit - 6, and Kotayk Province - 5.
“Rescuers have carried out water removal from several addresses, removing about 276 tons of water. 55 vehicles have been removed from blockages,” the statement said.
22 firefighting units, 8 motor pumps, and 84 rescue workers participated in the operations to remove flooding and blockages of vehicles. The calls were transferred to the relevant services as needed. There are no victims or injuries reported.
