US Believes Putin Likely to Launch Counteroffensive
Russian President Vladimir Putin is likely to begin a counteroffensive in an attempt to regain control of areas in the Kursk region that have fallen under Ukrainian forces, announced David Cohen, the Deputy Director of the CIA.
“Kyiv has stated that it does not intend to annex the occupied territories, and they serve as a buffer zone. However, Ukrainian forces are building defensive lines in the Kursk region and apparently intend to 'hold on to part of this area for some time,'” the CIA official speculated.
