State of Emergency Declared in Israel

The Israel Defense Forces have imposed new restrictions on citizens living in the northern and central areas of the country due to attacks by the Hezbollah movement, the IDF's press service announced on Sunday.

"In open areas, gatherings of up to thirty people are allowed, while up to three hundred people may gather in buildings. You are permitted to be at workplaces and educational institutions provided there are functioning bomb shelters nearby," the statement read.

Earlier, Hezbollah had announced the start of an attack in response to an Israeli strike in the southern suburbs of Beirut, which resulted in the death of senior commander Fouad Shukr. According to statements, within the framework of the first phase of retaliatory actions, which has been fully completed, eleven Israeli military positions were targeted, including several headquarters and barracks.
