Number of Confirmed Cases of West Nile Fever in Armenia Reaches 75
The number of confirmed cases of West Nile Fever in Armenia has reached 75. This information is reported by the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
The center has also published an eight-point guide on how to avoid West Nile Fever:
- Limit time spent outdoors from dusk until dawn when mosquitoes are most active.
- Avoid touching dead birds.
- Wear long-sleeved clothing.
- Remove any standing water near the home to prevent mosquito breeding.
- Use mosquito nets for windows and doors.
- Apply insect repellent.
- Avoid tall grass, damp areas, bushes, and grassy shorelines.
- Wear disposable gloves and protective clothing when handling sick animals, slaughtering, or processing meat.
