What is known about the tragic accident in Gegharkunik

On August 14 at 15:55, the crisis management center of the Gegharkunik regional rescue department received a call that an accident had occurred on the Tsovagyugh-Jambarak highway, with casualties reported.

Rescue teams from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, including fire and rescue units, were dispatched to the scene. It was revealed that a truck with the brand ‘DAF’ (driver: V. E., born 1965) collided with an ‘Opel’ vehicle (driver: J. H., born 1955). The driver of the Opel has died.

Before rescuers arrived, four passengers of the Opel were taken to the medical center by local forces, where doctors assessed the condition of Zh. Q. and J. G. as extremely serious, while E. V. and H. N. were considered to be in satisfactory condition.

Rescuers disconnected the vehicles from power, closed the gas cylinder valve of the Opel, and then removed the driver’s body from the Opel and transported it to the ambulance.
