Police Assaulted My Brother and Then Deleted the Video Recording: Artsakh Lawyer

After Artsakh lawyer Roman Yeritsyan announced that his brother was assaulted by police officers, the Ministry of Internal Affairs initiated a service investigation, claiming that Yeritsyan's brother, Aram Yeritsyan, was not assaulted at all. The Ministry has not addressed how he sustained bodily injuries. Roman Yeritsyan recently released a video showing how the police were using violence against his brother. Essentially, the Ministry of Internal Affairs is denying the undeniable.

In an interview with Hraparak, lawyer Yeritsyan stated: "If the Ministry of Internal Affairs has nothing to hide, let them publish the video recording attached to the injured patrol officer. My brother sustained bodily injuries, and the police provided an incomplete video recording. They are not releasing the footage showing how my brother was subjected to violence, despite the fact that the recording device of the injured officer Arman Siyroian was on throughout the incident. The investigator clarifies that the device's data is missing. If my brother was indeed not assaulted, then they should release the video recording. They have literally deleted it," said Roman Yeritsyan.

Lawyer Roman Yeritsyan represents the interests of Artsakh mayors targeted by the authorities during the protests of the "Tavush for the Homeland" movement, who were detained. Yeritsyan suggests that the brutal treatment towards his brother, Aram Yeritsyan, is due to his activities.
