Topics to be Discussed at the Putin-Assad Meeting in Moscow
The leaders of Russia and Syria, Vladimir Putin and Bashar Assad, have met in the Kremlin. The Russian president stated that he would discuss with Assad the regional situation, which has tendencies for escalation, and this also pertains to Syria.
“We will have the opportunity to discuss economic relations as well, which are showing a trend toward development,” he said.
President Assad expressed his happiness that this meeting coincided with the anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Syria and Russia.
“Over the past decades, our countries have gone through internal processes and various phases of formation, and now our relations are at a very mature stage. Given the processes happening worldwide and in the Eurasian region, our meeting today provides a great opportunity to discuss cooperation and all the details,” Assad noted.
