US Secret Service Admits It Refused to Strengthen Trump's Security for Two Years
The US Secret Service has admitted that it did not want to strengthen former President Donald Trump’s security for two years. This agency, responsible for the protection of high-ranking officials in the state, acknowledged that it declined a request to enhance Trump's security by two years. This was reported by The New York Times, citing a statement from a representative of the agency.
Additionally, agents had requested additional sharpshooters and special teams to monitor outdoor events. Senior officials of the Secret Service regularly rejected these requests, citing various excuses, including a lack of resources and personnel.
It is worth noting that Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle has taken responsibility for the assassination attempt against Trump. However, she stated that police were monitoring the building where the shooter was located, and the attacker was on the roof of the building.
