Trump's Return to Power Would Be Bad News for Ukraine, Bolton Says
John Bolton, former National Security Advisor of the United States, stated in an interview with CNN that he believes Donald Trump's return to power would be detrimental to Ukraine.
In this context, he recalled Trump's remarks during a recent phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, where Trump claimed he would "bring peace to the world."
"I'm not a psychologist, but I know the technical term used for a person who says, ‘I will bring peace to the world.’ This is insanity. He has no idea how to end this war, but I think his affinity for Vladimir Putin will ultimately lead to concessions to Russia that would be devastating for Ukraine," Bolton said.
At the same time, the former advisor added that the U.S. is assisting Ukraine not out of generosity, but because it concerns "American hard interests."
