Earthquake in Georgia Felt in Armenia
An earthquake has been recorded in Georgia, with tremors felt in several areas of Armenia. This information has been reported by the National Emergency Situations Service.
According to the Seismic Protection Territorial Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia, on July 17 at 06:09, an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.2 was recorded 30 km south of the town of Gurjaani, Georgia, at a depth of 10 km. The strength of the underground tremor in the epicentral zone was estimated at 5-6 points.
The earthquake was felt in the Tavush region, as well as in the cities of Vanadzor, Spitak, and Alaverdi in the Lori region (with a strength of 3-4 points), in Gegharkunik region (3 points), and in the cities of Hrazdan and Charentsavan in Kotayk region (3 points). In Yerevan, the tremors were recorded at a magnitude of 2 points.
