Another Cyclone Approaches Armenia: Surenyan
Today and tomorrow, Armenia is under the influence of an anticyclone. In a conversation with Panorama.am, Gagik Surenyan, the deputy director of the Hydro-Meteorological and Monitoring Center, commented on the weather forecasts for the upcoming days.
According to him, the cyclone will exit our region on July 4, with a vigorous inflow of tropical currents expected from the southwest on the 4th and 5th. As a result, the air temperature across the republic will increase by 8-10 degrees starting from July 5, while in the regions of Lori, Tavush, and Syunik, the increase will be more significant, reaching about 12-15 degrees.
Starting from the evening hours on July 6, another cyclone will approach Armenia. On the 7th, 8th, and 9th, rain will resume across the entire territory of the republic, and isolated areas may experience heavy downpours accompanied by hail. Additionally, the temperature will begin to drop again starting from July 7,” he stated.
Regarding the weather forecast for the month of July, Surenyan mentioned that the average monthly air temperature across the republic is expected to be 1 degree higher than normal, with precipitation levels significantly above average.
“We are expecting a not too hot and precipitation-rich July. The maximum temperature is forecasted to be between 38-40 degrees in Yerevan, the Ararat plain, and the valleys of Syunik, which could occur for 1-2 days, but not in the coming days. It is likely to happen in the third decade of July,” added the deputy director of the center.
