Texas Man Executed for Crime Committed 20 Years Ago
The authorities in Texas have executed a man for a murder he committed in 2001. According to CNN, he is 41-year-old Ramiro Gonzalez. It is noted that he has become the eighth person to be executed in the United States this year.
Gonzalez was convicted and sentenced to death in 2006 for the sexual assault and murder of 18-year-old Bridget Townsend. The Texas court also exonerated a man who had been awaiting execution for 20 years.
