Warning: Possible Flooding of Riverbank Areas - Gagik Surenyan
The Armenian Hydrometeorological Service (Hydromet) has issued a warning. This was stated by Gagik Surenyan, the Deputy Director of the Hydro-Meteorological Monitoring Center of the Ministry of Environment.
"Due to the penetration of a cold atmospheric front from the regions of the Black Sea, rain and thunderstorms are expected across the country during the evening hours of June 26 and the night of June 26-27. Intense rainfall is forecasted in Lori, Tavush, Gegharkunik, and Syunik. Due to the anticipated heavy rainfall, significant increases in water levels are expected in the rivers Vorotan, Voghji, and Meghriget on the evening of June 26 and during the night of June 26-27, raising the possibility of flooding in riverbank areas," the statement reads.
