Zara Amatuni on ICRC Representatives' Visit to Armenians Held in Azerbaijan
The head of communication programs for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Armenia, Zara Amatuni, has informed Sputnik Armenia that in June, ICRC staff visited Armenians, including leaders from Artsakh, who have been abducted and are being held illegally by Azerbaijan.
All of those visited were given the opportunity to make phone calls to their relatives or send video messages.
Earlier, it was reported that ICRC employees met with Armenian detainees in Azerbaijan in June. This was reported by Trend, citing the head of the public relations department of the ICRC representation in Azerbaijan, Ilaha Huseynova.
Huseynova did not specify the exact date of the visit. According to her, personal meetings were held with the detainees, conditions were created for communication with their families, and assessments were made of their detention conditions and the rules for their treatment.
