US Military Announces Elimination of an ISIS Leader in Syria

The US Central Command announced on June 16 that an airstrike in Syria resulted in the death of one of the leaders of the Islamic State terrorist organization.

“On June 16, the US Central Command conducted an airstrike in Syrian territory, resulting in the death of Usama Jamal Muhammad Ibrahim al-Janabi, one of the leaders and affiliates of the Islamic State,” the command stated in its announcement.

It is noted that his death will “disrupt the Islamic State’s ability to carry out terrorist attacks.”
