The Goal is Clear: To Utilize the Armenian 'Platform' to Create a Hotbed of Tension - Galuzin
Russia does not have a 'habit' of interfering in the internal affairs of other countries, as it knows from its own experience how harmful such influence can be on national development. Moscow genuinely values its ties with Armenia and strives to build them in a mutually respectful and beneficial manner. This was stated by Mikhail Galuzin, Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister, in an interview with Komosmolskaya Pravda.
“In contrast, the West views the republic from the perspective of necessity, as one of the tools of hybrid warfare against Russia and other countries in the South Caucasus. The goal is clear: to use the Armenian 'platform' to create yet another hotbed of tension in the region. Western capitals are prepared to casually 'place on the table' the social-economic situation and security of the republic. Representatives of the United States, the European Union, and NATO are urging Yerevan to sever all ties with Moscow and are seeking to persuade it to exit our common integration associations. We see that Armenia is being actively tempted with a European perspective. It’s easy to guess that the country will be convinced to abandon the mechanisms that have ensured record economic growth in recent years. Breaking economic ties with Russia would mean the loss of the main market for Armenian businesses,” Galuzin said.
Galuzin added that there has been a sharp decline in bilateral political contacts under the influence of Western narratives.
