Kyiv Has the Opportunity to Consider Putin's Proposal and Stop the War, Peskov
Kyiv has a real opportunity to consider the peace initiative announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin today and, taking into account the current realities, to stop the war and move towards peaceful resolution. This was stated by the press secretary of the head of state, Dmitry Peskov.
“The West will definitely discuss Putin’s initiative. The statements already made by the Americans and especially aggressive Europeans are clear: they want to continue fighting Russia through Ukrainians until the end,” said Peskov.
It is important to recall that Russian President Vladimir Putin has stated that Moscow is ready to sit down at the negotiating table on the Ukrainian issue as early as tomorrow. At the same time, he noted that Moscow proposes not a freezing of the conflict, but a cessation.
Putin outlined the key conditions: full withdrawal of Ukrainian forces from the territories of the DPR and LPR, as well as the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions, from all areas along the administrative boundaries that existed before joining the Russian Federation, Ukraine's neutral, non-aligned, non-nuclear status, demilitarization, provision of rights and freedoms for Russian-speaking citizens in Ukraine, and complete lifting of Western sanctions against Russia.
