Details Revealed in the Murder Case of a 26-Year-Old Man
According to SHAMSHYAN.com, officials from the Main Department of Criminal Police of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs, in collaboration with investigators from the Investigative Committee of Armenia's Yerevan office, have uncovered the identities of individuals responsible for the murder of 26-year-old Mher Khachatryan, who was shot in the Noragavit neighborhood of Yerevan on June 13.
Photographer Gagik Shamshyan reports that the incident occurred around 00:25 near the address 92 on Noragavit 1st Street. During the event, 39-year-old Hovhannes Martirosyan and 31-year-old Narek Avetisyan, both residents of Noragavit, opened fire on M. Khachatryan with illegal firearms, resulting in his death.
The police are taking necessary operational measures to locate H. Martirosyan and N. Avetisyan, as well as the firearms used in the crime.
The deceased is described as a positive individual with no history of involvement in criminal activities. He served in the legendary "Yeghnikner" military unit during the April War in 2016, where he bravely guarded his assigned posts, earning recognition from the unit's commander, Hero of Artsakh, General Karen Jilavyan.
Mher was also an active participant in the 44-day war, standing alongside his fellow soldiers.
Earlier, it was reported by the photographer that gunfire reminiscent of an action movie was heard in Yerevan on June 13. Around 00:30, operational information was received at the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs regarding gunshots in Noragavit 1st Street and a reported casualty.
Vardan Vardanyan, Deputy Head of the Police of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs, arrived at the scene. Given the severity of the crime, workers from the Yerevan and Shengavit administrative district prosecutor's offices also arrived.
The area was cordoned off by patrol officers, halting traffic. Police and patrol officers discovered the body of the young man, more than 30 spent shell casings, and blood-like traces at the scene.
Information about the incident was communicated by the Shengavit division of the police to the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Yerevan, which dispatched an investigative team led by the head of the department Karen Ptukyan, his deputy, and a senior investigator handling particularly important cases.
Forensic experts also worked at the site. Police and investigators established that the victim was 26-year-old Mher Kh., with preliminary forensic examination revealing several gunshot wounds on his body.
A criminal case has been initiated by the Shengavit investigative department under the characteristics of murder, and a forensic examination of the body has been ordered by the investigator.
