Video: Aviation Fuel Tank Ignites at Tallinn Port, One Injured
A powerful explosion occurred north of Tallinn, as reported by the press service of the Estonian Rescue Center. According to preliminary information from the authority, an aviation fuel storage tank has ignited at the port near Nilva Street.
As a result of the incident, a port employee was injured and has been hospitalized. According to the publication from the Rescue Center, the fire was extinguished three hours after the report of the explosion.
The authorities stated that the fire was extinguished using sea water and foam. The press service also informed that rescuers will conduct checks on the storage tank at least until tomorrow morning. Preliminary information suggests that the fire broke out on the roof of the oil storage tank.
