Deliberately Escalating Tensions, Peskov
NATO countries, particularly the U.S., have been deliberately escalating tensions around the Ukrainian conflict in recent days. This was stated by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian president, in a briefing with journalists.
According to him, this action is provoking a new phase of heightened tensions. “The member states of the North Atlantic Alliance, especially the U.S., along with other European capitals, have entered a new phase of escalation in recent days and weeks. They are doing this deliberately, and we are hearing many belligerent statements. This is nothing more than incitement to a new level of tension,” Peskov noted.
It is worth recalling that on the early morning of February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced his decision to conduct a special military operation in Ukraine upon the requests for assistance from the LPR and DPR. Combat operations in Ukraine have been ongoing to this day.
