Poland to Restrict Movement of Russian Diplomats Within the Country
Poland will impose restrictions on the movement of Russian diplomats within the country. This was announced by Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski, citing Russia's participation in a hybrid war against the European Union as the reason, as reported by Polskie Radio.
During his visit to Brussels, the head of Poland's Foreign Ministry stated that the Russian Embassy would receive a corresponding letter, and that the limitations would apply to both embassies and consulates. Thus, Russian diplomats will only be able to travel within the Masovian Voivodeship, and consuls will only be allowed to operate in the voivodeships where they work. However, the announced restrictions do not directly affect the Russian ambassador in Poland.
Radosław Sikorski noted that many countries have already imposed similar restrictions. At the same time, he emphasized that each country independently makes relevant decisions. “We have evidence that the Russian state is involved in authorizing diversions, including in our country. We hope that the Russian Federation will take this as a very serious warning signal,” said Poland's Foreign Minister.
According to Radosław Sikorski, the Kremlin is conducting a diversionary campaign throughout the European Union. He mentioned that individuals have already been detained in Poland for preparing diversions, and there are other suspects in similar activities.
