Media Reports Reveal Cause of Helicopter Crash Carrying Iranian President
The President of Iran, Raisi, was killed on May 19 due to a technical malfunction that led to a helicopter crash, reported the Iranian IRNA news agency.
The Chief of Staff of Iran's Armed Forces, Mohammad Bagheri, previously instructed a senior delegation to investigate the causes of the helicopter's downfall.
Raisi and his accompanying delegation were returning from a ceremony marking the opening of a dam constructed over the Araks River, organized by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. The helicopter crashed on the return journey, resulting in the deaths of the Iranian president, the foreign minister, and other high-ranking Iranian officials on board.
