Erdogan Calls Emergency Meeting Following Warning of Imminent Coup, Media Reports
Last night, Erdogan held an emergency meeting with the heads of the Ministry of Intelligence and the Ministry of Justice, warning about a possible coup attempt within the law enforcement agencies. Earlier, police officers from the Ankara Security Directorate were dismissed and arrested on charges of having connections with a criminal organization, and searches were conducted at their homes. This was reported by Hürriyet.
According to the newspaper, the investigation is being conducted under various articles of the Turkish Penal Code, including organizing a rebellion against the Republic of Turkey’s government, conspiracy to commit a crime, and the disclosure of secrets.
