A Heavy Burden Has Suddenly Befallen Our People: Torosyan
A heavy burden has suddenly befallen our people, wrote Arsen Torosyan, a member of the National Assembly from the Civil Contract party.
“Aside from the fact that he must break more than 100-year-old myths and stereotypes to navigate this stormy sea, he must also definitively and fundamentally shatter a 1700-year-old myth, although he has partially accomplished this by establishing statehood. However, as the church reveals its true intentions—sacrificing the statehood of the Republic of Armenia for its internal and external group interests while playing with the beliefs and emotions of its followers and lavishly offering false promises—the people must ultimately evaluate this institution and its aims that undermine the state. Throughout its 1700-year history, the church's direct contribution to the repeated demise of Armenian statehood will come to an end, and the Republic of Armenia will not retreat,” he wrote.
