Armenia Has Not Confirmed Mirzoyan-Bayramov Meeting, Therefore Date Not Set: Kazakhstan's MFA
The date for negotiations between the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, scheduled to take place in Kazakhstan, has not yet been determined, as Yerevan has not responded to the proposal. This was stated to RIA Novosti by Kazakhstan's Deputy Foreign Minister Alibek Bakayev during the third session of the Central Asia and Azerbaijan Economic and Cooperation Forum.
"As far as I know, the date for the meeting has not been set because Armenia has not yet given its consent, but we expect that these negotiations will take place," said Bakayev.
He emphasized that it is not coincidental that Kazakhstan has offered to be a platform for these negotiations, as the country's mediation role in resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh issue has been recognized since the 1990s.
It should be noted that on April 29, the Press Secretary of the Armenian Foreign Ministry Ani Badalyan confirmed that there is an agreement for a meeting between the ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan at the initiative of the Kazakh side, specifying that it will take place in Almaty.
