Prosecutor's Office Sends Notification to Investigative Committee for Holding Pashinyan Accountable
The Prosecutor General's Office has sent a notification to the Investigative Committee regarding the request from lawyers to hold Prime Minister Pashinyan accountable, announced Prosecutor Anna Vardapetyan in the parliament.
Last week, lawyers Ara Zohrabyan and Haik Nahapetyan submitted a report to the Prosecutor General's Office under Article 418 and Article 421 of the Criminal Code, demanding the criminal responsibility of Prime Minister Pashinyan in connection with the process of transferring Armenia's sovereign territories and settlements in Tavush to Azerbaijan, as they claimed.
"We are sending the reports to the body conducting the proceedings, suggesting discussing the issue of initiating the proceedings; afterwards, we have prosecutorial oversight related to those functions," she noted at the meeting of the National Assembly's Committee on State and Legal Affairs.
