Peskov Comments on Withdrawal of Russian Peacekeepers from Nagorno-Karabakh
Russian peacekeepers' withdrawal from Nagorno-Karabakh corresponds to the current realities in the region, said Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of Russia, in an interview with First Channel.
"This aligns with the current realities that have developed in the region after Armenia recognized Azerbaijan's borders as of 1991. Therefore, geopolitical realities have changed there, and, in essence, they no longer have functions left," Peskov stated.
Last week, the withdrawal of Russian peacekeepers from Nagorno-Karabakh, where they had been stationed since 2020, began based on a trilateral statement by the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia.
