Large Fire at Electrical Substation Supplying Kapan, Visible from Hundreds of Meters Away
Today, on April 8, a major fire broke out in the Syunik region. At approximately 14:10, the National Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia received a report of a fire at the electrical substation on Gortsaran Street in Kapan city.
According to Shamshyan.com, the fire erupted at the electrical substation (110 kV) supplying Kapan. Firefighters are currently battling to contain the spread of the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The site reports that flames and smoke are visible from several hundred meters away. Firefighting operations are being conducted by four fire units.
