Russia and Ukraine Strike Each Other, Casualties and Destruction Reported
The Russian Ministry of Defense has reported that ten shells of the RM-70 'Vampyr' multiple rocket launcher were hit during the night in the Belgorod region. Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov informed that twelve high-rise buildings, a children's clinic, a sports complex, and a commercial establishment were damaged as a result of the attack in Belgorod. One private house was burned, four high-rise buildings and five private houses were damaged in the Belgorod region. According to him, there are no casualties.
The Russian side launched strikes on Kharkiv during the night, resulting in casualties and injuries. Kharkiv Governor Oleg Synegubov reported that Russian forces launched two attacks on the city using S-300 missile systems. Nine residential buildings, an administrative building, a kindergarten, a café, a car wash, a gas station, three dormitories, and both passenger and cargo vehicles were also damaged.
Ivan Fyodorov, head of the Zaporizhia regional administration, reported about rocket attacks and explosions in the city during the morning. According to him, industrial enterprises were damaged, but there were no casualties.
During a nighttime drone attack, air defense forces destroyed three 'Shahed-131/136' type strike UAVs. In Zaporizhia city, residential buildings, medical institutions, and educational establishments were damaged. The Ukrainian Armed Forces Command reported that during the night, 32 'Shahed' type strike drones and six various types of missiles were launched toward Ukraine. Air defense forces shot down three missiles and 28 drones.
Meanwhile, the St. Petersburg government has ordered increased security measures in crowded places. This was reported by the Smolny press service. The announcement states that the decision was made during a joint emergency meeting of the St. Petersburg operational headquarters and the city anti-terrorism committee. 'The state leader has set the task of raising the citizens' safety in crowded places to a new level. We are taking additional measures,' commented regional governor Alexander Beglov.
At the same time, the Smolny press service clarified that authorities have introduced permanent monitoring of the operations of sports complexes and trade and entertainment centers. The same applies to various social and cultural institutions and public transport.
