Details of Discussion Between Nikol Pashinyan and Samantha Power Revealed
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with Samantha Power, the head of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), at the Armenian Embassy in Belgium.
Their dialogue focused on topics related to cooperation between the Government of Armenia and USAID, ongoing programs, and upcoming initiatives. Specifically, they discussed the democratic reforms being implemented in Armenia and the USAID's continued support for effective institutional reforms across various sectors.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the Armenian government will steadfastly continue its systematic approach to reforms, underlining their strategic significance.
Samantha Power noted that USAID will maintain close cooperation with Armenia and is prepared to provide ongoing support for government programs aimed at strengthening and developing democracy.
The two parties also addressed the humanitarian issues faced by individuals forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh and the steps needed to resolve these challenges. Prime Minister Pashinyan presented the programs implemented by the Armenian government and outlined future actions.
He highlighted the importance of support from international partners, including the United States, for those who have been forcibly displaced, stressing the necessity of ensuring such support continues.
In this context, further steps to aid the displaced, particularly regarding housing solutions, were also discussed.
