According to sources close to the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held a serious discussion with Minister Zhanna Andreasyan, focusing primarily on the 'Academic Town' project. This was reported by the 'Zhoghovurd' daily.
Pashinyan expressed the opinion that the project is challenging to implement, has raised concerns, and it is unlikely to be realized by 2030. The Prime Minister’s comments indicated a direction towards the cancellation of the project.
The 'Zhoghovurd' newspaper contacted the press secretary of the Ministry of Education, who stated that the 'Academic Town' project is progressing according to the established procedures and is being implemented as planned. A public announcement of the 'Academic Town' project is expected soon, which will also invite media representatives.
The ministry insists that it has a clear decision to implement the 'Academic Town' project at all costs; however, to date, it has not received clear agreement or opinions from higher educational institutions, both public and private.
