Victory Cannot Be Too Small or Too Big, Victory Is Victory: Erdogan

Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called to congratulate Faruk Ozlu, who has been re-elected as the mayor of Duzce with uncertain results. When Ozlu indicated his desire to receive a higher vote count, Erdogan responded, “Do not worry, victory cannot be too small or too big.” He added, “Victory is victory.”

According to preliminary results in Duzce, the candidate from the AKP party, Faruk Ozlu, has reaffirmed his position as mayor. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who congratulated Ozlu over the phone, stated, “I am busy, I have some travels. When I return from America and Saudi Arabia, I hope to visit our victorious provinces.” Ozlu then declared that he aims to secure a higher number of votes in future elections. Erdogan reiterated, “Do not worry, victory cannot be too small or too big. Victory is victory.”
