Sargis Galstyan Remaining in Stepanakert Arrested While Moving to Armenia
Following the evacuation of Nagorno-Karabakh, Sargis Galstyan, who remained in Stepanakert, has been arrested while moving to Armenia. According to the spokesperson of the Investigative Committee, Gor Abrahamyan, he is being charged with espionage, and a detention measure has been chosen.
According to reports from Azatutyun, Sargis Galstyan entered Armenia on Friday and was arrested in Goris by the National Security Service (NSS). He and his wife were transferred from Artsakh to Armenia under the escort of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
Sargis Galstyan has held various positions in Artsakh over the years, participating in military operations in the 1990s. He was the deputy head of the administrative district of Shusha and later worked in the Ministry of Defense and Education. Following the Azerbaijani attack on September 19, according to Artsakh MP Davit Galstyan, who is his nephew, President Samvel Shahramanyan appointed his uncle to another position.
