Following the terrorist attack at Crocus, Russian President Vladimir Putin has been in constant contact with the heads of security agencies, who have been informing him about the preparations for and the execution of arrests. This was stated by the president's press secretary Dmitry Peskov in a video posted on journalist Pavel Zarubin's Telegram channel.

“Work has already continued in the morning. There were consultations, and the president was constantly, as they say, at the remote control panel, meaning that the leaders, first and foremost those from security agencies, were on a direct line with him and reported on how the arrests were being prepared and how they were carried out,” he told the journalist.

When asked whether the president had spent the entire night sleepless, Peskov replied, “Of course.” “In such moments, no one’s sleep is sound, especially that of the state leader,” he added.
