Will Selcuk Bayraktar Become Erdogan's Successor? The Wall Street Journal
The American publication The Wall Street Journal has released an article titled “His Drones Helped Ukraine on the Battlefield. Could He Become Turkey’s Next Leader?” The author evaluates the possibilities of Selcuk Bayraktar, co-owner of the Baykar military drone company, becoming the successor to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The publication highlights that Bayraktar is married to Erdogan's daughter and enjoys a high reputation in Turkey. According to The Wall Street Journal, the possibility of this succession is being considered by Bayraktar's supporters. Turkish experts also do not rule out such a prospect.
Bayraktar himself has stated that he has no intention of engaging in politics, but he could potentially run for the presidency of Turkey. The publication noted that Bayraktar's father, Ozdemir, has known Erdogan since childhood, and Selcuk inherited the Baykar company along with his brother Haluk from their father.
