France Has Requested Assistance from 46 Countries
The French National Police's Central Directorate of Internal Security has expressed concern over the potential risk of terrorist attacks during the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games. France has reached out to 46 countries, requesting the deployment of over 2,000 foreign law enforcement officers to ensure security at the Olympic Games to be held in Paris this summer.
According to RMC Sport radio, citing police sources, "In January, France requested around 2,185 police officers from 46 countries to support French forces during the Paris Olympic Games." The inquiry has been sent not only to European Union countries but also to South Korea, China, India, Australia, and others.
It has been noted that approximately 800 foreign law enforcement officers have already been assigned by their respective authorities to handle security issues during the Olympics.
The Paris Olympic Games are scheduled to take place from July 26 to August 11.
