Turkey Reveals Purpose Behind Terror Attack at Crocus
The terrorist act at Moscow's Crocus City Hall was orchestrated by individuals seeking to sabotage the efforts for normalization between Russia and Ukraine, according to Turkey's Human Rights Defender, Sherif Malkoch, in an interview with Sabah newspaper. The information was later reported by RIA Novosti.
Malkoch stated, "Every time a peaceful atmosphere is created between Russia and Ukraine, an incident occurs, and all hopes are postponed until the next spring. This terrorist act is the work of those who want to undermine the negotiation process between Moscow and Kyiv." He went on to say that it cannot simply be attributed to the Islamic State (a terrorist organization banned in Russia).
Malkoch noted that significant progress had been made in the past month toward peace, hinting at the possibility of positive developments occurring soon. According to Turkey’s Human Rights Defender, considering the timing of the incident, it was a deliberate act of diversion.
