The responsibility for the terrorist attack at the 'Crocus City Hall' has been claimed by the banned Islamic State terrorist organization in Russia. This was reported by Reuters, citing information conveyed by rbc.ru. Additionally, The New York Times reported that the ISIS had assumed responsibility for the attack.
The newspaper states that American officials had gathered intelligence in March indicating that an attack was being planned in Moscow. Apart from a public warning about a potential attack on March 7, U.S. officials disclosed that they had privately informed Russian officials about the intelligence data suggesting an impending assault.
The information about ISIS claiming responsibility for the attack on the Crocus has also been reported by Al Arabiya, a publication based in Saudi Arabia.
