Russian Consulate Demands Explanation from Turkish Carrier
The Russian Consulate General has approached Turkish Airlines, requesting an explanation for the removal of Russian citizens from the airline's flights to South America. Andrey Buravov, the Consul General in Istanbul, provided this information to RIA Novosti.
According to him, the reasons for these actions may be related to the absence of a return ticket or a unified fare with a return flight. Buravov highlighted that similar incidents have occurred in the past concerning flights to Mexico; however, currently, the refusal to let Russians board flights has taken on an "obviously systematic nature."
"This requires clarification and understanding," the diplomat concluded.
