Aliyev Renames Occupied Stepanakert's Renaissance Square
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has renamed the central square of the occupied capital of Artsakh, now calling it 'Victory Square'. Aliyev announced his decision today while lighting a Norooz bonfire in the square.
In his 'message to the nation' delivered around the fire, Aliyev included threats and accusations directed at Armenia. Photographs published show that Aliyev was alone in the square during this event.
'We have demonstrated our strength, and from now on, everyone must take us into account, or else they will regret it,' he said.
