Putin Defeated in Yerevan, Victorious in Gyumri

In the Russian presidential elections, polling stations were also established for Russian citizens in Gyumri (8031) and Yerevan (8026). This was reported by azatutyun.am.

According to the results presented by the commissions today at 11:30, Putin lost in Yerevan, gathering 32.87 percent of the votes. Here, Vladislav Davankov from the 'New People' party emerged victorious with 49.85 percent of the votes, while in Gyumri, Putin is leading with 58.14 percent of the votes.

In Gyumri, Nikolai Kharitonov from the Communist Party received 2.20 percent of the votes or 29 votes, Vladislav Davankov from the 'New People' party received 30.66 percent or 405 votes, Leonid Slutskin from the Liberal Democratic Party got 2.42 percent or 32 votes, and Vladimir Putin received 58.14 percent or 768 votes.

The 102nd Russian military base is also located in Gyumri, and only three polling stations were operating at this military base.

In Yerevan, Nikolai Kharitonov gathered 1.82 percent or 127 votes, Vladislav Davankov received 49.85 percent or 3,474 votes, Vladimir Putin got 32.87 percent or 2,291 votes, and Leonid Slutskin received 1.58 percent or 110 votes.

Thousands of citizens participated in the 'Noon Without Putin' action, simultaneously showing up to vote and causing long queues in front of the opened polling stations.

Overall, with 99 percent of ballots counted, Vladimir Putin has won the Russian presidential elections, gathering 87.3 percent of the votes. This will be his fifth term, which will end in 2030. According to preliminary data from the Russian Central Election Commission, the voter turnout was 74.22 percent. Analysts had predicted before the elections that Putin would win by a large margin. He has been leading the Russian Federation since 2000.
