Zakhrova Responds to Macron's Proposal for Ceasefire in Ukraine
France must stop supplying arms to Kyiv. This is how Maria Zakhrova, spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, responded to French leader Emmanuel Macron's statement that he intends to advocate for a ceasefire in Ukraine during the Olympic Games. Her remarks were quoted by TASS.
Additionally, she mentioned that Macron should address the parties involved in the Middle Eastern conflict regarding the call for a ceasefire.
French President Emmanuel Macron stated that he would propose a ceasefire during the Paris Olympic Games and also indicated his willingness to negotiate with Russian leader Vladimir Putin regarding the de-escalation of the conflict in Ukraine.
The Olympics will take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
