Macron Responds to Putin
French President Emmanuel Macron has deemed Putin's remarks about the potential use of nuclear weapons as inappropriate. The statement was made by the state leader during an interview with TF1. The information was reported by gazeta.ru.
According to Macron, using nuclear weapons as a threat is irresponsible; they are a tool for security, not for destabilization or intimidation. The French leader emphasized that Paris also possesses a nuclear arsenal, which serves as a security guarantee for the residents of the republic.
"This places a responsibility on us to prevent escalation," Macron noted, adding that when it comes to nuclear weapons, "very few words are needed." Recently, in an interview with journalist Dmitry Kiselev, Putin stated that Russia is technically prepared for nuclear war.
Before this, French President Emmanuel Macron had denied claims about the freezing of his relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin. He mentioned that since the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine, he has spoken with Putin more frequently than with any other president.
