Zahharova Responds to European Parliament Statement on Russian Presidential Elections
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, responded on her Telegram channel to the European Parliament's statement made on the eve of the Russian elections, declaring that it would not comment on either the electoral process or its results.
“The European Parliament has officially stated that it will not consider the electoral process in Russia, and therefore it will not comment on either the process itself or its results. Everyone remembers. I do,” she wrote.
Zakharova also added, “Now let them at least try to say a word about the presidential elections in Russia, and everyone will understand that they are either lying or mentally unhealthy.”
The Federation Council has scheduled the presidential elections for March 17, 2024. Voting will take place over three days: March 15, 16, and 17. Four candidates registered by the Russian Central Electoral Commission are vying for the position of the head of state: Leonid Slutskin, Nikolai Kharitonov, Vladislav Davankov, and Vladimir Putin.
