Turkey Seeks to Start a New Era with Azerbaijani-Armenian Peace Agreement Signing: Erdogan
We want a new era to begin in the region with the signing of a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, said Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. This information was reported by Azerbaijani media.
He stated that maintaining stability in the South Caucasus is a priority for Turkey. The Turkish president expressed hope that the recently negative atmosphere in relations with Greece in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Aegean Sea would change, and that efforts would yield concrete results.
Erdogan added that Turkey always supports steps that serve stability and peace in the Balkans.
The country's leader noted that during the recent meeting in Washington regarding NATO, an agreement was reached to enhance cooperation with Turkey's ally, the United States. He also mentioned that Turkey's EU membership remains a strategic goal.
