China's Foreign Ministry Responds to Putin's Nuclear Weapons Remarks
The official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Wang Wenbin, commented today during a press briefing on the remarks made by Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding the possible use of nuclear weapons, as reported by RIA Novosti.
He emphasized that China has always advocated for nuclear powers to adhere to a common security framework, and that now all parties should contribute to de-escalation.
"In the current situation, all sides must take concrete actions to jointly support de-escalation," said the diplomat.
It is worth recalling that President Putin stated in an interview with journalist Dmitry Kiselev that Russia is prepared to use nuclear weapons if the existence of the Russian state is at stake and if there is a threat to the country's sovereignty and independence.
