They Are All Playing with Fire: Peskov
Western countries are playing with fire by discussing the possibility of sending troops to Ukraine. This was stated by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of Russia, to journalists. He deemed the emergence of such proposals, particularly from French President Emmanuel Macron, as dangerous. The information is reported by TASS.
The Kremlin representative noted that in Moscow, they hear "a large number of contradictory statements" regarding the deployment of NATO troops to Ukraine, but the very fact that the issue is being discussed is dangerous. He drew attention to Macron's statements about the need to "initiate a debate on this issue," which come against the backdrop of the reasoning that it is necessary for the West to ensure "Russia suffers a strategic defeat."
"They are all playing with fire," Peskov emphasized, adding that alongside discussions of strikes against Russia by German officers, all of this leads to "further degradation of the situation." "Of course, this is extremely irresponsible behavior," the Kremlin representative assessed the developments.
Peskov pointed out that for Moscow, "the main thing is to achieve its objectives," and that "Russia is an open country for political-diplomatic options to achieve these goals."
